Program Details

Our success is possible because of the individual approach of our staff, our one of a kind facility, and our philosophy for raising young horses. The highlights of our facilities include: a 1 mile All-Weather gallop, a 1 ½ mile uphill turf gallop, starting gate, outdoor arena, round pen, and European-style walkers. Our uphill turf gallop features naturally uneven surfaces-perfect to strengthen young bones and tendons. Each horse is turned out for a minimum of 16 hours a day which allows them to continue to develop without the stress of constant stall confinement. Our goal is to make the transition from starting to training as smooth as possible, and it has really paid off. Trainers will vouch that graduates from our program have been prepared for any surprises at the track, and are able to focus solely on training towards the races.

At Margaux, it is the little things we do. Our attention to detail is what sets us apart. We pride ourselves on producing sound racehorses that lead long, successful careers at the track. Combine that with our tradition of going the extra mile, and you get a top program. If you take all the obstacles out of training prior to the track and allow the horse to focus solely on running once they get there, you give them the best shot to let their pedigree shine through.

Our program has given our clients the results they were looking for. Horses with a Margaux foundation reach the track often ahead of their class. Not because we push them: at Margaux, the individual horse determines the pace of his/her training. Horses condition best at the track- they develop physically and mentally at the farm. The parable of the tortoise and the hare can be applied to starting young horses-the well-managed, steady approach wins the race. When you take your time and do things right the first time, you ensure that your horse has the best chance for a healthy, successful career.
