Divisidero Wins Belmont’s Pennine Ridge S.

Monday, June 1, 2015

The Buff Bradley trainee, Divisidero, won his second consecutive stakes on Saturday at Belmont in the 1 1/8-mile grass Pennine Ridge Stakes. The three-year-old colt by Kitten’s Joy points next to the $1.25 million Belmont Derby.

"(Rafael) did a great job getting him into position once he realized the pace was pretty slow up front," said Bradley. "So he got him up there and then sat on him. Coming down the lane, we felt pretty good. We know (Divisidero will) run a horse down. (The Belmont Derby has) been our plan all along. So we hope we can come back and make some noise on July 4th."

With only four career starts Divisidero boasts three wins and a third place finish, winning last out in the American Turf S. (G2) at Churchill Downs. He is owned by Gunpowder Farms, and is a graduate of the Margaux Farm starting and training program.
