Grand Arch captured the $500,000 Fourstardave H. (G2) at Saratoga on Aug. 15 for owners Jim and Susan Hill. After finishing second in last year's edition of the race, Grand Arch held off second place finisher, Ironicus, to win by a neck.
The victory marked Grand Arch's second graded win, boosting his career earnings to $1,007,230. The 6-year-old gelding by Arch was ridden by Luis Saez and is trained by Brian Lynch. From 22 career starts, Grand Arch improved his race record to 6-6-6.
"We felt like he needed his last race there at Belmont, but he certainly ran big in this race last year and he got the job done today," Lynch said. "I'm a big fan of King Kreesa's after his last couple of races and to beat him in a hard-fought stretch drive, it was a thrilling race."
