Sent off at odds of 7-1, Mr. Money split horses to capture his first graded stakes victory on the Kentucky Derby undercard in the Pat Day Mile Stakes (G3). The Margaux starting and training grad was cutting back in distance after finishing fifth in the G2 Louisiana Derby, just behind eventual Kentucky Derby winner Country House. Owned by Chester Thomas’ Allied Racing Stables, the three year old Goldencents colt got a perfect stalking trip under Gabriel Saez and picked up his second career victory to push his earnings to $400,080. Trained by Brett Calhoun, Mr. Money was purchased for $130,000 out of the 2017 Keeneland September Sale.
