Margaux Freshening & Training Grad SPENDARELLA cruised home to a decisive 1 3/4 length victory in the G2 Appalachian Stakes, going 1 mile on the turf at Keeneland on April 9.
With the win in the G2 Appalachian Stakes, SPENDARELLA expanded her faultless record to a perfect 3-for-3 now. Stalking the leader throughout majority of the race, she made her move coming into the lane and swept past her rival. She completed the mile on the good turf in 1:37.41 under rider Tyler Gaffalione.
Trained by Graham Motion and campaigned by Gainesway Stable (Antony Beck), she sold for $220,000 as a yearling at the 2020 Keeneland September sale. By KARAKONTIE (JPN) and out of the mare SPANISH BUNNY, she is a full-sister to multiple graded stakes placed SPANISH LOVEAFFAIR. She now has earnings of $284,090 and will gear up for a potential start at Royal Ascot in June.
