Margaux Farm starting and training graduates Divisidero and Aliquippa will both run in their first graded-stakes race this weekend for owner Gunpowder Farm and trainer Buff Bradley. Divisidero, a 3-year-old son of Kitten’s Joy who won his debut on Feb. 7 will run in the $150,000 Palm Beach S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park on March 7.
"He's really coming around," Bradley said. "He's picked up weight since his last race and has really trained very well, so that's why we decided to enter him. Mentally, he's a pretty cool horse. I told his owners, 'That's what makes a racehorse, what he does.' He shows class, and when he gets out on the track he's all business, but when he's back in the stall, he knows how to rest. With his mentality, I think he knows how to relax and run and do what you want, and he listens to the jockey."
Aliquippa, another Gunpowder and Bradley duo will run in the $200,000 Florida Oaks (G3) at Tampa Bay on March 7. The 3-year-old filly by Yes It’s True won her last start on Feb. 13 in a maiden special weight at Tampa Bay.
Both horses were bred in Kentucky and purchased at the 2013 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
