Sent off as the favorite and allowed an uncontested lead, training and quarantine grad Bee Jersey notched his first stakes score at Lone Star Park on May 6th in the G3 Steve Sexton Mile. Trained by Steve Asmussen for owner/breeder Charles Fipke, the 4yo colt was winning for the third time in a row and defeated Gr. 1 winner Girvin by five and a half lengths in the process.
Bee Jersey started his 2018 season with a six length win in an allowance race at Oaklawn Park in January, before taking an optional-claiming allowance race at Keeneland by 7 ¾ lengths in April, both in front running style. He now has a 4-3-1 record from nine starts and $326,293 in earnings.
