Foaled and raised at Margaux for Anita Nesser and her BHMFR LLC, Weiland got our 2-year old season off to a quick and successful start. Fifth on debut at Keeneland April 18th, Weiland came out on top in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes after a long stretch battle with Myhotrodlincoln.
The Kentucky Juvenile was the first stakes win for owner/trainer John Ennis, who purchased the Yes It’s True colt from the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale. Earning $60,760 for the victory, plans call for Weiland to get a rest before returning to the races in later summer or fall.
