Improving on her third place finish in last year’s G2 Ballston Spa Stakes, Starship Jubilee returned to Saratoga and overcame a compromised start to defeat a field that included 7 time G1 winner Sistercharlie.
After getting away from the gates awkwardly, Hall of Fame jockey Javier Castellano was able to get Starship Jubilee settled into a perfect stalking position as North Broadway opened up a 10 length lead through the first half. In full flight around the far turn, Starship Jubilee took command from that pacesetter at the top of the stretch and prevailed by a neck at the wire after battling through the final furlong with second place finisher Call Me Love.
Startship Jubilee notched her eighth graded win and stopped the clock for the 1 1/16 turf test in 1:41.7, increasing her lifetime earnings to $1,608,667.
