Canadian Horse of the Year Starship Jubilee extended her legacy in today’s G1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile at Woodbine Racetrack when she beat the boys and punched her ticket to the Breeders’ Cup in November. The 7-year-old mare became the oldest winner in the history of the race, and joined Tepin (2016) and Ventura (2009) as the only female winners.
Claimed for $16,000 in 2017, the daughter of Indy Wind has won 19 of 38 career starts for trainer Kevin Attard. Starship Jubilee opened 2020 with four straight victories: the Sunshine Millions F/M Turf Jan. 18, the G3 Suwannee River S. Feb. 8, the G2 Hillsborough S. Mar. 7 and the G2 Ballston Spa S. July 25.
Ridden by Justin Stein, Starship Jubilee defeated G1 Preakness S. winner War Of Will and multiple G2 winner March to the Arch in a sharp time of 1:32.06 on a turf course rated firm, just .31 of a second off Wise Dan’s course record. Owned by Blue Heaven Farm, she now has career earnings of $2,093,069.
