The switch to turf was no trouble, as Mr. Hustle ran his career record to a perfect three for three with his win in the Soaring Free Stakes at Woodbine yesterday. Two and a half lengths back, was stablemate and fellow Margaux starting and training grad Pleasecallmeback, who was making his second lifetime start after breaking his maiden in July.
Breaking on top in the field of five and ridden by Rafael Hernandez, Mr. Hustle set the pace throughout and finished the six and a half furlong contest in 1:15:20. He pushed his career earnings to $122,844 with the victory.
Both colts were running without Lasix for owner William Werner and Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield and who says the next start for Mr. Hustle will likely be the G1 $250,000, Breeders Cup ‘Win and You’re In’ Summer Stakes on September 15th, at Woodbine.
