Totally Boss Secures Spot in Breeders Cup Turf Sprint (G1)

A tough field full of graded stakes winners proved to be no problem for Totally Boss, who kicked 1 ¼ lengths clear in the Runhappy Turf Sprint Stakes (G3) at Kentucky Downs today under regular pilot Florent Geroux. An incredibly consistent performer this year, Totally Boss won for the fourth time in five starts, with his only loss coming at Churchill Downs in June by a scant nose, to G2 winner Om. Trained by Rusty Arnold for owners Jim and Susan Hill, Totally Boss stopped the clock in 1:09:21 for six furlongs. Not only does he take home the lion’s share of the $684,640 purse to boost his lifetime earnings to $666, 658, but he is also guaranteed a spot in the starting gate for the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita on Nov 2. He will return to Margaux Farm for a short break, and will then train up to his start in the Breeders' Cup. The gelded four year old son of Street Boss was a $180,000 purchase from the Taylor Made consignment at the 2016 Keeneland September Sale.
